Butterflies in the Garden (Fancy Die)

I’ve seen this die-cut used a lot this past weekend in the Hero Arts Blog hop and I CASED one of the cards at You and Your Big Dreams.

Be sure to enter the A2Z Scrapbooking challenge this month.  I did not use the Mood Board, but I did use a new die.

The dark color is a gray, but this is a mood board, not a color board.  I couldn’t tell for sure because the box looks navy blue to me.

Casing a Designer with Hero Arts Feathers

Happy September all.  Delia again, with another take on using digital files, while also keeping it in the theme of “Case a Designer”.  Well, I have a few favourite designers, but at the very, very top is a most amazing lady called Ola Khomenok, she is from the Ukraine and her work is amazing, lots of layers, colours and just bits and pieces.  She uses loads of stencils initially when building up her page and then she makes what she does look sooo easy and it truly does my head in.  I watch her videos over and over again and am always left in awe of her talent.  I am trying very hard to emulate her style at the moment which I call “collage style”, but it really is just “Ola style” as she has a truly beautiful talent that I am actually very jelly of.  Aaaagh, but it is always good to have those that push us to be better.  I am not sure what my issue is in my difficulty in trying to emulate her style, but I think it has a lot to do with wastage.  I am frugal when it comes to using my large collection of flowers, chipboard, ephemera and bits and pieces as it all costs lots of money and I just don’t want to waste it – even though it isn’t really wasting it.  I know that Ola is on some major design teams and would be showered with product and deservedly so, but that is not reality for most of us and so I am very considered when I put my layouts together.  I also am just not yet as talented as she!

Jacobi-scrapbookpage-a2zsept1

So, here is my layout using the Hero Arts Feather Digital Cut file, which has the most awesome feather shape ever!  Clearly that was my hero in the layout, but I had lots of fun with this layout.  Firstly, I put the feathers through my Silhouette machine and then out came the Nuvo wax pastes in various colours and painted them and then I foiled them and sealed the foil off.  May I say how tedious foiling is…. those fiddly things and me are not the greatest of friends.  I truly did hide behind the door when patience was handed out.  So, I had a bit of fun with colouring and things, building up the layers, adding more and more bits and pieces, until all finished.

That’s all from me until another week passes when I shall return with another ‘Case a Designer’ layout, which will probably be all about Ola.  She is my current challenge and I am not giving up until I can learn her skill and put it in my repertoire.  So, be kind, be good and enjoy your inner creative.  Please visit me at my website www.jacobicreations.com or my blog at jacobicreations.blogspot.com.au

Hero Arts Butterfly with Hero Arts Tags

When I saw Cindy’s card here, I knew I had to try it with just plain ol’ nesting dies, not that anything Hero Arts is plain.  But I just got my new Hero Arts stencil in and I couldn’t wait to try it out.  And you won’t believe what distress ink color I used – WILD HONEY.  I popped the orange tag up and put some sequins in.  Then I thought the tag hole was a bit big, so I copied another DT, Monica, with her neon  butterfly from August 12th. I added the smallest tags with a sentiment.

Here’s Cindy’s card of wonderful cups.  You can see those wonderful dies nesting below her cups in the first photo.

Here’s Monica’s card.

My results are below.  It’s a tag card   The sequins can move around to their heart’s desire.

Bright and Beautiful Fancy Butterfly

Hi Cindy here to share a couple cards featuring the Hero Arts Butterfly Fancy Die.  Pssst it’s on sale right now at the a2z Scrapbooking Supplies Etsy store, don’t miss it.

First card:  I die cut the Fancy Butterfly using a print created using Gel Plate and acrylic ink.  For a look of the original print, please visit my blog:  Escape To Stamping.

I love that subtle shimmery gold on the bright purple/pink background.  Before I die cut, I adhere a piece of Stick It Adhesive sheet to the back of the print.  Afterward, I just peel off the backing and stick it on the postage die cut.  Easy peasy!  🙂

On my postage stamp die cut (cut using Hero Arts Postage Stamp Infinity Dies) I stamped various postmarks with grey shadow ink.  The whole panel is adhere to green pattern card base with foam adhesive.

So after I am done with this one, I looked at the leftovers, namely the negative die cut and the small pieces.  I thought why not create a second card using them?!  I stick the negative butterfly onto a lime green panel, use a butterfly die cut cut on scrap as guide and stick back the larger manageable pieces.

Then I mount the whole panel onto a white card base stamped with Neon Pink script.

Here’s a close up shot you could see the shimmers.

Hero Arts Flutterbies Digital Box card

Hi all.  It’s Anything Goes this month at our challenge.  So I’m here to show you a card in a box I made using the Digital kit called Flutterbies Printable PT006.  A2Z are the sole supplier of Hero Arts Digital kits and stamps.  I really like the way I can choose the size I print my images at.

I started by sizing my digital stamp in a Word document and then copying the size so I had 6 images.  I used some Canson XL water colour paper and printed out my sheet.  I then used some watercolour paint to make lots of colourful butterflies.   I also printed one at slightly butterfly as well and water coloured.   I fussy cut all the butterflies and made my card in a box.   I used some patterned paper by Craftworks which looks like watercolour.  I added a little bit of trellis die on my back panel and added the larger butterfly.   For my front sentiment I used another Hero Art Digital kit – Say it in Pieces.  I took two of the sentiments – made a circle in Word and coloured it green and added the sentiments.  Added a teeny punched butterfly.  My green leaves are a Hero Arts Fancy Die Spring Fling (Discontinued)

LAYERING BUTTERFLIES BY HERO ARTS

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with you. April is almost over and I want to finish my creative month using another color layering stamp, the Color Layering Butterflies by Hero Arts. This is a very unique set of stamps that you can use for all occasions. Let me show you my card:

LAYERING BUTTERFLIES BY HERO ARTS

I love to create CAS (or Clear and Simple cards) and with the Color Layering stamps this is a real passion because you can use a lot of color combos and different layers to create different types of combinations on your images. If you notice on my card, the small butterflies have only one image in common, the detailed layer, but the bases are totally different.  The set Color Layering Butterflies is composed by 10 different images that you can combine and integrate to obtain different looks.

LAYERING BUTTERFLIES BY HERO ARTS

The base of my card is Whisper White and I pasted a piece of decorated paper on the left border. Then I stamped the solid butterflies and the detailed images with three different colors of ink: Green Hills, Tide Pool and Orange Soda Shadow Ink Mid-Tone by Hero Arts. I only kept the body of the butterflies with a single color, Tangerine Bold Ink by Hero Arts – the same color that I used to create a splatter. The sentiment was stamped with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Etsy store. You can use the code Martha15 to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.

a2z Scrapbooking has a Twitter, Instagram and Facebook page. Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any of the promotions!

I hope I have inspired you to join the challenge this month! You will have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the store! See you soon!

Floral Border Silhouette

Hi, friends, Chark here today to share one of my favorites right now, the Hero Arts Floral Border Die. It’s delicate and spring-like and makes a gorgeous silhouette when cut from black cardstock.

IMG_3590

For the background, I used Distress Inks and applied the ink pads to a nonstick craft sheet. Then I spritzed with a lot of water and ran the cardstock through the ink. I let the panel dry and then trimmed it to fit behind the die cut.

I stamped the sentiment and swirl from the Color Layering Peacock Stamp set and adhered the whole panel to a card base. It was easy to do and pretty quick. If you want to speed up your ink drying time, you can use a heat gun and it would be even quicker. It looks like you took a lot of time and effort but it really is a fast and easy card.

Hope you’ll join in our monthly challenge Getting to Know You (using your favorite Hero Arts products). You can win $25 to the store! I think my favorite die says I’m fond of flowers and sunsets. Do you think the black against the color looks a little like the trees against the setting sun? I do!

Get To Know You

Happy Monday!
