Hero Arts Arum Lily Valentine

I am a little sad to say that this is my final post for a2z Scrapbooking for our Farewell challenge.  I had a wonderful time being part of the a2z Scrapbooking DT, this is first Design Team I’ve ever join so it had special meaning to me.  I have learnt and grew with this team, and I am going to miss it a lot.

For my project today, I choose to make a card for Valentine’s Day, yes I know it is still a little far away, but we could celebrate love anytime right?!

https://fresh.inlinkz.com/js/widget/load.js?id=d1626941e732cbb79b50

To create this card I stenciled some horizontal stripes on a white card base using Soft Grey Shadow Ink.

Then on multimedia paper I stamped and watercolor the Arum Lilies.  I used some references from the web for the colors.  After everything dried, I hand cut the blooms, leaves and stems; and made a bouquet.  And it is adhered to the card, and I added a white on black sentiment stripe.  And I added a little of Diamond Stickles to the center.  Voila, simple and pleasant.  🙂

There still plenty time to play our Final Challenge – Holidays (pick any holidays you like).  Click here or the Current Monthly Challenge Button at the top to get more details.

Then I layered the white heat embossed and glitter gold heat embossed trees.

Hero Arts Santa Snacks Gingerbread Cookie Wreath

Hello there,

Cindy here to share a fun Christmas card!  We could string popcorn necklace to trim a tree and hang candy cane as ornaments.  So why not display a gingerbread cookie wreath?!  😀

I white heat embossed the gingerbread man mulitple times on a selection of brown card stocks and die cut.  Next I stamped the leaves in distress inks and die dut.   Then I arranged and glued the die cut pieces on a round die cut.  The sentiment is white heat embossed onto pink vellum.  The wreath is then glued onto a pattern paper panel and then onto a white card base.  To decorate the wreath I added a few holly leaves, and wine colored sequins.

I thought the gingerbread men were a little plain, so I used a gold gel pen and colored their buttons, mittens, and socks.  Here’s a closer look.

Hero Arts Sweet Sprinkles Special Birthday

Yay it’s Friday!

Cindy here to share another Birthday card.

Do you find it hard to use a bright and busy background on occasion?!  I thought so.  I have a panel of second generation stamping leftover from another project but it is still quite colorful and festive, and I think it is perfect for a birthday card.  But instead of an equally busy focal point, I went the opposite direction.  I just added a simple white heat embossed sentiment on black card stock.

Some of the areas in the background panel didn’t get ink, so I used the small confetti image from the Birthday Stamp & Cut set to fill them in, and slightly distress with Spun Sugar to tame the bright white from the paper panel.  For the inside of the card I stamped a cake image using the same ink palette.

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope you’d take part in our August Challenge:  Birthday!  Scroll down and get the information.

One more thing:  The sizzling summer sale is still on.   All stamps are 10% off for the rest of August! This includes already bundled for savings items and already marked down items!  And we will be offering Free Shipping on all orders over $35!

Hero Arts Everything Smiles Shaker Window Card

Hi everyone,

I just love that little cup cake from the Hero Arts Everything Smiles Stamp & Cut set.  And I think it’s just so cute to use on a birthday card.  With the help of my MISTI, it’s easy to stamp a background using it.

On a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch white card stock I stamped and watercolored the cupcakes background.  Then I place it on top of a white card case, secure with washi tape, and I die cut the speech bubble both layer at the same time.   This ensures the windows are aligned.

Next I align the sentiment (‘sweet’ from the Color Layering Pomegranate, and ‘birthday wishes’ from the Many Birthday Messages set) so it’s inside the window and stamped in black.

Then I glued a piece of acetate on the back of the cupcake panel, and another on the front of the card base.  I put foam adhesieve all around the windor on the card front, filled with sequins and beads, peeled off the backing of the foam adhesive and placed the cupcake panel on top carefully aligning the window.  You noticed something wrong here?!  Yeah I was so excited creating my shaker window I forgot to put foam adhesive around the outside edge of the card.  Hmmm… what to do.  Well I just glued the cupcake panel onto the card base.  The shaker is sandwiched in between.  It works.  LOL  I actully made another booboo but I think it’s minor enough that you don’t really see it.  But if you do I’d love to hear it.  Leave me a comment.  😀  Lastly I rounded the corners and add Diamond and Star Dusk Stickles onto the frostings.

So fun and glittery!!  Grab your favorite images and make a birthday card, and join in the challenge.  Scroll down to get the details.

Hero Arts Holiday Greenery Edge Ornaments

Hi,

I know, I know it is only July, but I have been working on my Christmas cards stash.  Sparkle and shimmer is always a great element to use on Christmas cards.

For this first one I die cut some gold foil card stock with Hero Arts Holiday Greenery Edge Fancy Die to decorate the ornament.  To make less matchy matchy I heat embossed the greeting with Brass embossing powder.  On the hot pink card base I splattered some white acrylic paint.

Since I got everything out already, why not make more?  🙂  I used the same design, just swap the gold foil card stock with metallic dark blue card stock, and gold heat emboss the greeting instead.  On the white card base, I splattered Glimmer Metallic Gold Ink.

I also coated the die cut bow with Clear Wink of Stella.

So do you have a preference?  Inspired?  Go ahead, make something Sparkly and Shinny and play along our July Challenge – Sparkle and Shine.  Scroll down to get the details.

Hero Arts Love Swirls Stenciled Wedding & Anniversary

Hello there,

July’s challenge theme – Sparkle & Shine prompts me to think of weddings and anniversaries.   And I am using this stencil, Hero Arts Love Swirls Stencil today.

Isn’t it lovely?  Now let’s take a look of my projects.

First up I made a CAS wedding card.  The pattern of the stencils reminds me of a bride’s veil, or it could be some details on a wedding dress.  So I went ahead and align the stencil on a white card base so that only half is on the card.  I masked the necessary areas and spread a light modeling paste over the stencil, lifted the stencil and sprinkled Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter over the paste right away so they would adhere.  After it dried I furbish the glitter by rubbing the stenciled area.  And shake off the excess glitter.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment in Brass.

Next I created an anniversary card.  I used an inking tool and inked only parts of the stencil.  I did one side first then move the stencil to the opposite side and repeated the process.  Then the sentiment is stamped in black and clear heat embossed.

Next I masked the stenciled area and the sentiment, and splatter the middle section with Glimmer Metallic Gold Ink.

Both cards are one layer, so very mailing friendly!  🙂  Btw, the Love Swirls stencil is on sale right now, It’s 50% off the regular price.  Get yours today.

Now it’s your turn to make something Sparkly and Shinny and play along our July Challenge.  Scroll down to get the details.

Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut Celebration

Happy Sunday!!

The sun is shining and that’s all the reason I need to celebrate!!  😀

I bake a cake and I want to make it festive when I serve it.  So I created a tiny banner using several small images from Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut set.

I think this project is really self explanatory, so I will skip the details.

Next up I used the same idea and add a banner to my very festive journal pages.  The page is stamp with Hero Arts Sweet Sprinkles Cling stamp.  I inked it with various distress ink and spritz with Perfect Pearl solution, then stamp in my journaling book.  After everything dried, I adhere my banner on top.  Such a festive and colorful page, don’t you think?

Now it’s your turn, grab your stamps and bring it “outside the box”!  *wink wink!

Enjoy the rest of the day and hope you’d find time to craft.  Looking forward to seeing your creations that’s not a card in the June Challenge gallery!

Hero Arts Everything Smiles Color Swatches

Hello,

Cindy here to share a few fun projects, color swatches, skinny bookmarks and lunch box message tags.  I am inspired by this month’s challenge – Anything But a Card.

It’s been a while since I last documented my inks.  So I decided it’s time, but instead of using one stamp, I used Hero Arts Everything Smile Stamp and Cut set.

The small stamps are perfect for the ombre ink pads, they fit onto the different strip of ink.  Here’s look of all the swatches before I put them in the book ring.

For my next project, I made skinny bookmarks?  Okay I know lots of people are reading on-line, but still books are all around us, and I’d bet some of you want book mark your favorite chapter!  Also I personally like to bookmark my ‘go-to’ recipes in my cook books and magazines.  (Yes I admit I have a tough time parting with my magazines).  Alright, enough babbling, here they are:

Btw why skinny bookmarks you ask?  Well it’s less likely to fall out (in my opinion)!!  The two on the left I stamped in black and colored with watercolors and coloring pencils.  The last one I stamped in color and left it CAS.

Do you see the green light bulb?  Yeah my paper moved and the second stamping is off set.  So I added hand drew some lines and wrote the word ‘ding’ to made it a ‘light bulb’ moment.   😀

For the last project I made some small lunch box message tags.  The larger speech bubble die from the Everything Smile Stamp and Cut set (I think) is perfect for this purpose.  Imagine what a delight to find a speech bubble tag that says ‘Enjoy’ in your lunch box/bag?!  🙂

I added a little special touch on each of the tags, the apples got glittered cheeks.  The cup cake frosting is coated with Sprinkle Sugar and extra sprinkle of diamond glitter powder.  The heart is coated with glossy accept so it’s more ‘puffy’ (if you would).

You made all the way to the end!!  Thanks for reading this far.  I hope I’ve inspired you to pick up your favorite stamps and join in our June challenge.  Scroll down to get the details.  Happy crafting!!
