Hero Arts Everything Smiles Color Swatches

Hello,

Cindy here to share a few fun projects, color swatches, skinny bookmarks and lunch box message tags.  I am inspired by this month’s challenge – Anything But a Card.

It’s been a while since I last documented my inks.  So I decided it’s time, but instead of using one stamp, I used Hero Arts Everything Smile Stamp and Cut set.

The small stamps are perfect for the ombre ink pads, they fit onto the different strip of ink.  Here’s look of all the swatches before I put them in the book ring.

For my next project, I made skinny bookmarks?  Okay I know lots of people are reading on-line, but still books are all around us, and I’d bet some of you want book mark your favorite chapter!  Also I personally like to bookmark my ‘go-to’ recipes in my cook books and magazines.  (Yes I admit I have a tough time parting with my magazines).  Alright, enough babbling, here they are:

Btw why skinny bookmarks you ask?  Well it’s less likely to fall out (in my opinion)!!  The two on the left I stamped in black and colored with watercolors and coloring pencils.  The last one I stamped in color and left it CAS.

Do you see the green light bulb?  Yeah my paper moved and the second stamping is off set.  So I added hand drew some lines and wrote the word ‘ding’ to made it a ‘light bulb’ moment.   😀

For the last project I made some small lunch box message tags.  The larger speech bubble die from the Everything Smile Stamp and Cut set (I think) is perfect for this purpose.  Imagine what a delight to find a speech bubble tag that says ‘Enjoy’ in your lunch box/bag?!  🙂

I added a little special touch on each of the tags, the apples got glittered cheeks.  The cup cake frosting is coated with Sprinkle Sugar and extra sprinkle of diamond glitter powder.  The heart is coated with glossy accept so it’s more ‘puffy’ (if you would).

You made all the way to the end!!  Thanks for reading this far.  I hope I’ve inspired you to pick up your favorite stamps and join in our June challenge.  Scroll down to get the details.  Happy crafting!!

Hero Arts Tags With A Spiral Stencil Twist

It’s Arlene here with a second post this month.

It’s Anything but a Card Month here at A2Z Scrapbooking.  I rarely make tags for any occasion but Christmas, but my mind went wondering into the gray world of stencils and inks. I couldn’t make just one since I cut two dies, could I?

Since I used white cardstock for my tags, I wanted to give some depth to the tag and chose the Spiral Stencil die with one of Hero Arts Ombre inks.  Yes, I do have pages of pre-printed images from the Hero Arts kits and that’s how I created these cards, matching size and shape, images and sentiments.

Sometime things just turn out better than you planned and these did.  I need something on my desk to click me into creativity and I know some people need that clean desk to open their vision.  That’s not me.  As soon as I clean up my desk, I am blank, but put a couple images or dies on the table and my mind starts working again.

Use my discount code Arlene15 to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more..  I am home at A Bit of This and That.

Guest Designer June 2019

Hello everyone,

I am so excited to introduce our June Guest Designer, Amy Tsuruta.  Here’s a brief bio of Amy.

I started ‘seriously’ crafting in 2003. For some reason I signed up to be my son’s Co-op Preschool Scrapbook Coordinator. At that point, I hadn’t even scrapbooked yet. I’m happy to say that we still have that scrapbook. I started my Splitcoaststampers Gallery in 2005. I remember seeing blogs and became curious about them. I started mine in 2007. I didn’t start my IG account until April 2015. I was holding out because I didn’t think I could swing the time commitment. I still feel that way but try my best in keeping up with everything. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this awesome papercrafting community.

Now let’s hear from her:

Hi everyone!  It’s Amy Tsuruta and I’m thrilled to be guesting today for the a2zscrapbooking Monthly Challenge – Anything but a Card.

I designed a tag duo especially for today.

My first tag features the Cardinal Stamp & Cut.  I used the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies.  The stamped woodgrain is an older Hero Arts wood mount background stamp.

I recently bought a top and matching cardi that had their tags attached by the pins I used today on my tags.   The cardinal sentiment has been heat embossed in white.
My second circular tag features the Alpaca Stamp & Cut.  I loaded this one up with a bunch of images.

I can’t wait to see how you’re inspired by this month’s challenge!

A big shout out to a2zscrapbooking for the invite!

Aren’t these tags darling?  Thank you so much for taking the time to Guest Design for us Amy!!

Hero Arts Flowering Magnolia in White

This month the A2Z Scrapbooking challenge is “Birthday Bash”.  I switched from silver embossing powder to white for this card and tag.  I have seen so many cards in silvers and white, that I couldn’t pass up trying the white embossing and I’m calling this the “white edition”. I decided a nice tag would be perfect to accompany the card and birthday gift.

Even though the distress color looks different on the tag, the same distress ink was used and the tag is the more realistic color shown.

Sugartree Sweet Tea or Lemonade?

I really like the latest release of Sugartree stamps.  You can choose the mini stamp set of jar and sentiment “You’re sweeter than sweet tea” or add lots of other digital stamps to this cute iced jar with the full set of stamps and make lemonade..  I made my own background with the sweet jar, spread distress inks with a brush on the bottom panel and die cut.  Visit A2Z Scrapbooking to join the challenge.

Sugartree Stamps Mothers KN003 Digital Kit Mother’s Day Card

Have you seen the new digital stamps by Sugartree Stamps available only at the a2z Scrapbooking etsy store? Well, I’m using one for my card today and it’s just in time for Mothers’ Day, which is quickly approaching on Sunday, May 13th. Here’s my card

I started by printing out the Floral Border 2 image onto cardstock, using my inkjet printer. I sized it so that it would be the front panel of an A2 card. I added color with Copic markers. For the sentiment, I printed out the “Happy Mothers Day” stamp onto cardstock, again with my inkjet printer. I made two tags, using Stampin’ Up’s Ornate Tag Topper punch. I added the sentiment, matted with purple, to the green tag. I matted the entire card panel onto black cardstock make the card panel “pop”.

Sparkly Tags with Hero Arts

Aloha and happy Tuesday friends!  With the holidays right around the corner, I need to start making tags for my stash.  Today’s post is using the Hero Arts Nesting Tag Dies  and those scraps of glittery paper lying around.

Sparkly Tags with Hero Arts

For the sentiment I used a variety of Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Candied Apple, Wild Honey and Lucky Clover from the stamp set Hero Arts Christmas Messages.  The best part…the stamp set is on SALE!!  It has a variety of great sentiments for all your holiday needs.  The scalloped edge is from Lawn Fawn’s Valentine Border dies.

Winter Holiday Houses Tags

We’ve changed things up for our monthly challenge here at a2z and our challenge winner for November’s challenge will win the digital kit of the month.  If our random winner is also using Hero Arts products, we will add a $20 gift card to the store!

I so enjoy using the tags I make for gift giving.  You can make them any size and not have to squeeze your writing into a limited space.  This is the largest tag of the Hero Arts Tag dies.  I darkened the roof with a dark red marker and added some other colors to the house.  I thought that even I, could doodle some pavement outside the house.   There’s enough room at the top of the tag to write the name of the person to whom you are giving your gift.

Hero Arts Butterfly with Hero Arts Tags

When I saw Cindy’s card here, I knew I had to try it with just plain ol’ nesting dies, not that anything Hero Arts is plain.  But I just got my new Hero Arts stencil in and I couldn’t wait to try it out.  And you won’t believe what distress ink color I used – WILD HONEY.  I popped the orange tag up and put some sequins in.  Then I thought the tag hole was a bit big, so I copied another DT, Monica, with her neon  butterfly from August 12th. I added the smallest tags with a sentiment.

Here’s Cindy’s card of wonderful cups.  You can see those wonderful dies nesting below her cups in the first photo.

Here’s Monica’s card.

My results are below.  It’s a tag card   The sequins can move around to their heart’s desire.

Hero Arts Vintage Travel

I didn’t have any mojo for working on my journal for awhile and all of a sudden two pages came together for me. The first page uses a double sided paper, one a map and the other is black with light circles.  I printed out some ships from the Hero Arts Vintage Travel digital kit and adhered a group of three to the bottom of a pockent on one side.  The digital butterfly is beautiful when cut out.  A cut piece of card stock is tucked into the pocket and now has some nifty things in it for the next six months.

I adhered a larger ship on top of a glittery green HA tag die-cut.  I colored a bit of the land masses a light to mid green color.

You can see what I’m using as tags here with the tags pulled out.  Yes I’m using white ink to write on these.

I’ve put the new journal page on rings and have a lot of my notes in here for A7Z Scrapbooking.
