Mahalo Heart Two Ways

Aloha friends!  Today is my last post as a design team member for A2Z Scrapbooking and I wanted to thank all of you who have left such kind comments and who have supported A2Z Scrapbooking through your visits, comments and shopping!  I’ve loved sharing all my projects with you all and I hope to continue seeing you all around social media!!

Today’s card is dedicated to you all including my super talented team mates!

I first die cut a heart out of a card front and used it as a stencil to stamp out my “mahalo” from the Hero Arts Color Layering Sea Turtle inked in Hero Arts Ombre ink in Mermaid.  To add some glitz I added in the small sequins from the Hero Arts Ombre Ocean Sequins.  The whole card front panel was then die cut with Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables.

This card was done the same way just using the negative space of the die cut heart and the larger sequins from the pack.

That’s it for me!  Big MAHALO for the last 3 years of supporting my posts and designs.  Its been a blast!!

A Killer Birthday with Hero Arts

Happy Aloha Wednesday friends!  I hope everyone’s summer is off to an awesome start!  I’ve been waiting to use the Killer Messages set for a while now and so glad that we now have it in the store.

The sentiments are so fun and the images match them perfectly.  Inspired by our challenge going on this month I went with the monochrome look…

I created a panel using Distress Oxide inks in Broken Glass and Salty Ocean.  Then I stamped the fins in Distress Oxide ink in Hickory Smoke and added a little detail to the fin with a white gel pen.  This panel was glued onto some matching cardstock with the sentiment stamped in Hero Hues India Ink Black.

Partial Embossed Wedding Card with Hero Arts

Aloha friends!  Sorry for the delay, but the time got away from me!!  May is a chaotic month for my household with family from out of town visiting and my kids celebrating all kinds of end of year events.  There’s also wedding season coming up which is what inspired my card today…

I love background stamps and have a lot of older Hero Arts ones that I play with.  This one is called Hero Arts Large Flower Background, but I also like the one that’s currently in the store called Hero Arts Flowers for Coloring.  I think any background stamp would work nicely for this effect.

I started with Versamark ink and stamped on my card front.  I used Lawn Fawn Rose Gold embossing powder because it is the wedding couple’s wedding color, but only applied to part of the background inking to create a tone on tone effect that moves into a fun colored embossing look.  I didn’t want the whole panel embossed for a different…not quite so bold look.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Congrats Stamp and Cut die cut on glitter paper and then embossed on strips of the same colored cardstock of the card front.

I think the look gives it some elegance, but not too flashy for the groom to enjoy as well…haha!

A Gift for Mom with Hero Arts

Aloha and happy Monday friends!  With Mother’s Day right around the corner I needed to start thinking of little gifts to pass out for all those special moms that have blessed me with their guidance and wisdom.  What to make for those moms?  Check it out below…

There are a ton of YouTube videos out there on how to make these glass tile magnets so I encourage you to check them out for tips and tricks.  This is perfect for those tiny stamps and images!  Isn’t it fun?!

I used the tiny images from Hero Arts Color Layering Sea Turtle and Hero Arts Irreverent Birthday Messages for some themed magnets that will be placed together in a box for gift giving.  The white cardstock is sealed with glossy accents and before it dries, I added the super strength magnet to hold up even the bulkiest of artwork from our kiddos to put on the fridge!

Happy Aloha Friday!  I’m back with a fun, layered stamping card for a coworker’s birthday.  I wanted an ocean theme as we are nearing summer and got out the fun and fabulous Hero Arts Color Layering Sea Turtle.

I wanted a sea turtle to represent the bunch of us at work so I stamped them out using the base with Hero Arts Hybrid ink in Green Apple, the next layer was Hero Arts Shadow ink in Green Hills and then the last layer with different shades of dark greens (Hero Arts Hybrid ink in Moss and Pine) to make them look slightly different.

To add the birthday theme I used images from Hero Arts Irreverent Birthday Messages and added them in speech bubbles.  The sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set called Simply Sentiments heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.

A Leafy Heart Sympathy with Hero Arts

Happy Aloha Friday friends!  I’ve had a few coworkers asking for sympathy cards and I find these cards the hardest to make.  The Hero Arts With Deepest Sympathy Wood Stamp is perfect with its beautiful font and is a nice size sentiment to add to a card front.

On today’s card I wanted to use the topiary heart from Hero Arts Layered Topiary Stamp and Cut as a background.  I used Hero Arts Hybrid inks in Green Apple, Moss and Pine to create the layered look.

I love the size of the Hero Arts With Deepest Sympathy Wood Stamp which is approximately 3.5in x 1.25in and decided to heat emboss on vellum using Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder.  I strategically placed Ranger Multi Medium Matte glue behind the embossed sentiment to adhere to the card front.

Aloha and happy Friday friends!  I’ve been loving the latest Stamp and Cut sets with Hero Arts and wanted to play with the Hero Arts Layered Topiary Stamp and Cut.  Such a fun, easy and versatile stamp set.  I’ve made a bunch of thank you cards, but definitely thinking of adding a birthday sentiment instead or an “I love you” sentiment perfect for this month’s challenge!

I initially started with the center topiary using Distress Oxide inks in Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover for the leaves and Vintage Photo for the trunk.  I wanted to play around with just using a single ink color and it still looked cool so I decided to stamp out a couple more topiaries on each side.

For more dimension I die cut the topiary to pop it up and added some score lines to ground my topiaries.  The beautiful font on the sentiment is also from the same set!

Happy Tuesday friends!  Have you seen the Hero Arts 2018 Spring Catalog?  I was so happy to see a lot of ocean themed stamps, stencils and dies!  Today I am using Hero Arts Reef Border die which is just gorgeous and perfect for a lot of occasions.  I love the details of the little seahorse, turtle, coral and even fish!  I needed a more masculine birthday card and came up with this.

I started with navy blue cardstock for my card panel and die cut the reef border die.

I die cut a separate panel from white cardstock to ink up with Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Salty Ocean.  This panel was then adhered to the backside of the card front.

I love the silhouette effect of the Reef Border die around the Distress Oxide inked up panel!  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Blessings Stamp and Cut (which is on sale) inked up in Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow ink in Navy .

Aloha and happy Saturday friends!  My apologies for the delay.  It’s been busy around here with baking and wrapping gifts.  There’s nothing like a homemade gift and having homemade wrapping paper can be a bonus too!

I took white tissue paper and my Hero Arts Ombre inks and started stamping away using the Hero Arts Christmas Messages (which is on sale).  I made sure the pattern was stamped in a way that I didn’t have to worry about the sentiment being upside down.  When buying wrapping paper I’m always conscious of one way designs…drives me crazy…haha!  Another tip is having another paper to stamp on.  I learned this the hard way realizing my inks bled through the tissue paper on to my desk.

Here’s the gift all wrapped up…see what I mean about having the sentiment stamped in various ways?  I think this would be a cool way to make a card set for friends and family and wrap it up for fun!

Sea Turtle for Baby Boy with Hero Arts

Aloha and Happy Sunday friends!  Taking a break from the holiday card making as I needed a large card for coworkers to sign for our dear pharmacist who gave birth to a sweet baby boy!  The card measures at 8.5in x 5.5in (basically an 8.5in x11in cardstock folded in half).  She has an ocean theme for his nursery so I got out my very fun and beautiful Hero Arts Color Layering Sea Turtle set.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Congrats Stamp and Cut (which you could special order).

To add the ocean effect I decided to make a shaker with Hero Arts Ombre Ocean sequins.

I used my Silhouette to cut out a 4in circle frame and a 4in blue circle for the back.  I stamped out some fun kelp and star fish (Hero Arts Hybrid ink in Green Apple and Hero Arts Hybrid ink in Caramel). To get the lighter version I used 2nd generation stamping.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Congrats Stamp and Cut (which you could special order) inked in Hero Arts Hybrid ink Deep Ocean.  The 4in letters were cut with my Silhouette and embossed with a wavy embossing folder.  The sea turtle was inked in Hero Arts Hybrid ink in Green Apple, Moss and Pine.
