Hero Arts Everything Smiles Shaker Window Card

Hi everyone,

I just love that little cup cake from the Hero Arts Everything Smiles Stamp & Cut set.  And I think it’s just so cute to use on a birthday card.  With the help of my MISTI, it’s easy to stamp a background using it.

On a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch white card stock I stamped and watercolored the cupcakes background.  Then I place it on top of a white card case, secure with washi tape, and I die cut the speech bubble both layer at the same time.   This ensures the windows are aligned.

Next I align the sentiment (‘sweet’ from the Color Layering Pomegranate, and ‘birthday wishes’ from the Many Birthday Messages set) so it’s inside the window and stamped in black.

Then I glued a piece of acetate on the back of the cupcake panel, and another on the front of the card base.  I put foam adhesieve all around the windor on the card front, filled with sequins and beads, peeled off the backing of the foam adhesive and placed the cupcake panel on top carefully aligning the window.  You noticed something wrong here?!  Yeah I was so excited creating my shaker window I forgot to put foam adhesive around the outside edge of the card.  Hmmm… what to do.  Well I just glued the cupcake panel onto the card base.  The shaker is sandwiched in between.  It works.  LOL  I actully made another booboo but I think it’s minor enough that you don’t really see it.  But if you do I’d love to hear it.  Leave me a comment.  😀  Lastly I rounded the corners and add Diamond and Star Dusk Stickles onto the frostings.

So fun and glittery!!  Grab your favorite images and make a birthday card, and join in the challenge.  Scroll down to get the details.

Get Well Wishes with Hero Arts

Hero Arts Wishing Well

Hi Friends, Kristina here today with a Shaker Card!!
I haven’t made a shaker card in I don’t know how long. I bought these gorgeous Butterfly Garden sequins with the 2018 Hero Arts release and thought they would go perfectly with this wishing well stamp set.

I created a basic shaker card with a rectangle die and some fun foam, filled with sequins an adhered down to a card base which I had colored blue with some copic markers. I stamped, colored, and cut a ton of images from the Wishing Well stamps set, and decorated the front of my card. I stamped a sentiment down at the bottom, and added some Nuvo Drop accents just for a little interest at the bottom.

Postage Infinity Watercolor Shaker

Hello hello,

One thing I love playing with watercolors is that the result often surprise me.  For today’s project I started creating an ombre background.  And I wanted to add a subtle pattern on top.  So after the first layer dried, I place the stencil on top and paint with more watercolors thinking to have the stencil pattern.  Well well well the watercolors appears to have it’s own mind and I ended up with this.

Okay, the fact is some of the watecolors went underneath the stencil so I didn’t get a clear cut pattern.  But I absolutely love how it turned out.  It looks like a winter scene with a snowy mountain in the center.  Now the question is what to do next?!  I really don’t want to cut it up too much.  So my Postage Stamp Infinity Dies came to the rescue!!  😀

I die cut using two of the dies,  stamped sentiment and made a shaker element with the smaller die cut area.  So what do you think?

Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop with Nesting Tea Cup

Once again we are joining the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop, and we are a sponsor for the hop!

Today I have a fun card to share with you.  I used the Hero Arts Nesting Tea Cup Infinity Dies and created a faux shaker card using the inlaid die cutting technique.   A faux shaker card?!  Yes one without acetate nor sequins/beads/bits.

Instead of using sequins and beads, I placed a stamped panel instead in the area where the sequins would go.  So when the card is shake, the stamp panel shifts you see parts of the image only.  I have a small tutorial on my blog Escape To Stamping.  Take a look on how I put this card together.

The Nesting Tea Cup Dies are really fun.  I made a layered shaker card using the set, you could take a look here.  Besides using it all your coffee/tea/hot chocolate projects, the largest die is perfect for a shape card.   See this post.  Also I think this set would be perfect to make a mini book, a recipe book, perhaps cup shape ornaments?!  I’ve even made a charm for my planner, see this post.  Lots of possibilities!!  🙂  Check it out at the a2z Scrapbooking Etsy store.

Nesting Tea Cup Rainbow

Hello there, Cindy here to share a bright rainbow color tea cup shaker card.  Yeah that’s a mouthful!!  LOL

Sometimes I overthink everything (or you could say I have a tough time making decision) thus I take a lot of time to create a card.  Well not today my craft friends.  I pick up my Hero Arts Nesting Tea Cup Infinity Die and I said to myself: just go have fun using the die, no taking time to match pattern paper.  😀

Ta da!  This is what I came up with.

I die cut the rainbow color tea cups using five different card stock (twice the red one), the smallest one is die cut in the middle without the tea cup handle.  This I did using the partial die cut method.  I mark the cut out area on the green layer and hand cut the same shape.  Glue a piece acetate in between the purple and green layer.  Next I put form achieve on the yellow layer (in the shape of the cup), fill with sequins, and adhere the green/purple layer over on top.  The last step is score the second piece of red tea cup shape and glue on the underside to form the card.

I hope I’ve inspired you to play along our August challenge (detail below).  Make something bright and join in the fun!

Hero Arts Color Layering Sea Turtle – Mahalo

Hello everyone!

It’s Donna hereo share with you a shape card made with the Hero Arts, “Nesting Circle Infinity Dies”.  I have created a shaker card using the “Color Layering Sea Turtle” stamp set.  I hope you will join the fun this month which is “Take Shape”, you can use any shape card and use at least one Hero Arts product on your card to qualify for the prize.

closer look

How I put my card together:

1.  I die cut two circles with the Hero Arts Circle Infinity dies,

2.  I used a stencil brush and inked one of the circles with the Hero Arts Aquatic hybrid ink,

3.  I stenciled the waves from the Hero Arts Waves stencil,

3.  I scored the bottom circle about 1/2 inch and used score tape to adhere to the front stenciled circle,

4.  I took the largest and the third circle to make the frame for my shaker card,

5.  I die cut all the elements I wanted to use for the card, I used the negative to put the die cut pieces back on the sheet to stamp the images with my Misti,

6,  I used the Hero Arts Acetate Sheet to create the front of the shaker.  I used the large circle to cut the acetate and then used liquid glue to glue the blue frame and the acetate together.  I glued all my elements and added the sequins to the stenciled circle piece, then used foam tape around the frame and acetate piece and adhered it to the stencil part of the shaker.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my shaker card, I really had fun creating it.  Are you on social media? We are! Please join us on TwitterInstagram and Facebook? so you don’t miss any fun promotions or new challenge announcements!

Mondays Call for Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream!

Aloha and happy Monday!  Today I’m playing with the Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream set that really makes me crave ice cream.  The best part is you can have a lot of stamping fun and make your cone anyway you want it (calorie free)!  Not an ice cream fan?  Switch it up to the frozen yogurt swirl and add toppings.

HAA2ZIceCreamBdayWishes2

Everything you see on the card is from one stamp set and can be found in the store!  I created the background using the sprinkles and Hero Arts hybrid inks in Strawberry, Tangerine, Dandelion, Green Apple, Summer Sky and Orchid.

From an oval stitched die cut I used the Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream Frame Cut to create a shaker.  Then stamped out the cone (Hero Arts Sand Shadow ink and Hero Arts hybrid ink Caramel) and used the frame cut for that as well.  I backed the ice cream scoop with some pink cardstock and filled with miniature iridescent stars.  I thought the scoop needed more definition so I added some stitch marks with a white gel pen.

HAA2ZIceCreamBdayWishes

The sentiment was die cut with a stitched circle and inked up on the edges to keep the color scheme.

Don’t forget there’s still time to enter the latest a2z Scrapbooking challenge.

Mahalo for stopping by!

I’d never forget you

Hello my dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you my version of a shaker card. I am using the Lil Hoot stamp set and believe me this is totally gorgeous set.

I'd never forget you

To make the shaker, I used micro beads gold because I want to simulate the sand. I love to used these micro beads in my creations because they bring me a great look and move easily around on any surfaces. In my card I create a circle die cut on the upper side and I used the circle as background. I gave this color using distress ink in yellow and brown tones.

I'd never forget you

For the images I used the Owls of the Lil Hoot stamp set available in our a2z Scrapbooking Store. The owls were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and the sentiment with Pumpkin Pie Classic In. I colored the images with Copic Markers.

Now you have the opportunity to create your shaker card version, you have a few days until our challenge close. Remember that you are always welcome to use my discount code MARTHA15  in the store and take 15% off  on your order of $25 or more with this coupon code.

Have a great week and see you soon in our next challenge!!!

I'd never forget you

Shake it Up: Christmas!

There are 12 weekends left until Christmas
Just saying’

Merry and Bright Hero Arts
I never get all of my holiday cards done in time, so the new Hero Arts release was a great
excuse to start now! And why not start with a shaker card!

This card was super fun, and fairly simple, here’s what I did

Stamp & Emboss background onto red cardstock (4 1/8 x 5 3/8)
Cut out circle window for shaker card with circle die
Create frame with scallop circle die & above circle die in center
Create shaker using your favorite shaker method, I use the Fuse tool
Before filling, Stamp sentiment in White Stayzon ink
Fill and secure shaker pocked to front card panel
Adhere front card panel to main card base (4 1/4 x 5 1/2)

Hero Arts Merry and Bright
You can find the stamp I used here and much much more in the a2z scrapbooking supplies store on Etsy by clicking HERE.
