A Hero Arts Tree-Mendous Make It Pop Day

I was thinking stripes and modern for today’s card, but went with a traditional red and green color palette.

I thought striped trees should sit on a striped background.  I think my card has a modern feel.  I striped the background on the bottom half of the card, popped the trees up and dotted between the lines with Nuvo Crystal Drops and completed the card with a simple sentiment on top.  Almost a CAS card.

A Natural Christmas With Hero Arts

Time to Make It Pop with some popping Christmas Cards.  I layered my card and this was NOT in my comfort zone, but I am very happy with it.  I began with a simple image and die cut it in the postage stamp shape.  All I did was cut mostly brown & burgundy colored patterned papers.  I’m happy with it, rather a natural type of card with music and joy.

A Hero Arts Birthday Bash Popped With Balloons

I don’t make many specific cards for birthdays, but this month I made two, so I’m all popped up to present my balloon card which is layered with balloons.  I used pop dots at the bottom of 8 of the balloons on this card and worked a Happy Birthday across the middle of the strings as a banner.

Hero Arts Holiday Houses and Tree-Mendous Trees

Getting ready for Christmas?  I am and I have to think of different ways to give gift cards to some of the people on my list, such as my sons and granddaughter.    I have used the Elizabeth Craft Designs die cut sled die with Hero Arts Tree-Mendous and Holiday Houses digital kits for some really cute cards, in my opinion.

Join in on the Winter challenge at A2Z Scrapbooking.  I have several photos of the cards I worked on for my kids.  I used a 12: X 12″ pattern paper for the card (not very flashy, but the inside is where the card shines.

 

This is the inside of two of the four cards I made.  The blue pool reminds me of  southern California in the winter, when it’s still a bit chilly for us northern Californians to frequent out pools, though I did swim in an outdoor pool here in Sacramento at American River College (nice and heated).  A lane leads up to the door and a Ho Ho Ho sentiment with a place for a note finishes the inside off. .I just love using that Nuvo Crystal Drops white (I’m using the Simply White and I see the A2Z Scrapbooking store has sold out of their white Nuvo. at the moment.  The bottles go a long way.

Hero Arts Holiday Houses Perfect for the Winter

With digital images, you can enlarge or decrease the size according to your need.  I printed two houses and adjusted the size of one to a bit larger size.  I’m happy with both of them.  These cards were super easy to make because the background is part of a paper pad with varying shades of colors.  I bought two pads a couple of years ago because I knew I would want more than one paper pad.  That is so true.   I really enjoyed making a couple of scenes with the houses.

My second card has a wonderful sky and some snowy ground with icy snow on the roof.

I used a smaller sized sentiment with the larger house and a different color in the windows.

A Calendar of Many Hero Arts Stamps

I have made my calendar for 2018 and I’d like to share some of my pages with you.  I used two sided papers for my calendar as the calendar is in notebook form, turning at the top.

January 2-18 and I put my red Cardinal in.  This set is sold out at A2Z Scrapbooking, but any Winter scene you want to use would be fine.

 

February 2018 has a blue snowy background paper and I stamped trees in white with my Brrrrrr die-cut  

You could use the Classic Christmas Tree here or the Winter Silhouettes here 

I figure everyone would have spring fever, including me and what gives us more of a feeling of freedom than the great outdoors and scooting around.  These little scooters are in the digital kit City Adventure here.

 

Come April and we’re all thinking of trips to our National Parks and so I used the “Save Our National Parks stamp, which may be custom ordered.

Winter Holiday Houses Tags

We’ve changed things up for our monthly challenge here at a2z and our challenge winner for November’s challenge will win the digital kit of the month.  If our random winner is also using Hero Arts products, we will add a $20 gift card to the store!

I so enjoy using the tags I make for gift giving.  You can make them any size and not have to squeeze your writing into a limited space.  This is the largest tag of the Hero Arts Tag dies.  I darkened the roof with a dark red marker and added some other colors to the house.  I thought that even I, could doodle some pavement outside the house.   There’s enough room at the top of the tag to write the name of the person to whom you are giving your gift.

Water Color A City Adventure Digital Scooter

I made a little scene for a holiday trip on a scooter.  Very simple, but fun.  I combined two different techniques here.  For the ground (grass) and part of the blue sky layer above the grass, I used distress markers and a water color brush.  Then I just sponged on the distress ink on the sky and spattered with water.  A few beeps and the vacation sign from the same digital set were added.  Some Glossy Accents and Nuvo Crystal Drops completed the card.

Hero Arts Digital Make Your Own

I have a friend and she makes the most fabulous quilts, but not just quilts, handbags, totes and cute vests with all kinds of beads.  Amazing work.  I wanted to make her a card, JUST BECAUSE she is my friend.  You know how you go to work and have work friends and home friends.  We started working together MANY years ago and took our work relationships out on the road, literally; we went camping to Santa Cruz.  The stories I could tell about the trip down and our long weekend taking in the beach and barbecuing.  Fast forward and retirement is here and I wanted my friend to know how much she has meant to me.
