Hi, friends, Chark here today with the fun job of announcing the winner and runners-up for the September CASE a designer challenge. As always, we love seeing what you come up with for the challenge and are impressed by the talent we see…so a big THANK YOU to all who participated.
The winner, with the most votes from the Design Team this month, is
Zelda, with this lovely Dahlia card…aren’t the colors just beautiful? I love the partial stenciling and bold sentiment. She has CASEd Angie’s card below. Zelda, email me at
a2zscrapping@gmx.com to get your $25 gift code to the a2z Scrapbooking Supplies store and your blog button.
The Design Team picks out three runners-up each month whose projects have inspired us or wowed us. Each of these three receive a blog button to tell the world how awesome we think they are. Please email me at email me at a2zscrapping@gmx.com to get your blog button.
Our first runner-up is
Greta with a wonderful metallic fall card. She has CASEd Ilina’s card below. The vellum with the copper sentiment is really striking with the black background.
Our second runner-up is
Daria with her CASE of Michele…It’s such an interesting design using the top third of the card and second generation stamping that I think I may have to give this one a shot. I probably don’t have the exact flowers as either Michele or Daria, but it looks like any will work to pull off this beauty.
Our third runner-up is
Gwendolyn, who has CASEd Helen’s card in an eye-popping and beautiful way. Her red and white design really emphasizes the beauty of the leaves.
Thanks again to all the entrants and congrats to our winners. This month’s challenge is Watercolor…hope to see lots of entries!
As you probably know, a2z Scrapbooking was founded to support charities that address those with Behcet’s Disease and Celiac Disease and every purchase you make helps others…Our purchasing manager (who runs the store) has a big heart and wanted to share yet another way our blog readers (and all of us here at a2z) could help others. This post from Katherine Cosimano shares how being creative and kind can do good in the world.
“We are all hurting badly since the horrible events in Las Vegas. Many of you have expressed a desire to help.
After the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre, I put out the call for handmade cards for the families of the victims. At that time, our amazing community of card makers came out in droves, and filled my mailbox with nearly a thousand cards, written with messages of comfort and love (see picture, below)
I would like to organize a similar card drive for the families of victims of the Las Vegas massacre. The act of creating and writing in cards may be healing for us… it will certainly be a kind and loving gesture for the families who are hurting so badly right now. I will be happy to collect, package, and deliver these cards, likely to a central distribution center who will be able to get them to the families.
Consider making cards in your card groups and classes, church groups, and/or special events. Dig into your stashes. Keep your cards simple. The messages are more important than the images.
There are currently 59 victims
😥 Cards should be written in, but not put in envelopes nor addressed to any specific victim.
Thank you in advance for your efforts. Let’s let these families know they are not alone in their sorrow!!!”
