Ornaments Infinity Dies in a New Way

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today sharing a Santa card I made with my Hero Arts Ornaments Infinity Dies. I think he turned out pretty cute!

  1. I used the dies shown below for the deer and for Santa (he has two dies…one red and one white).
  2.  I cut a rounded slit in the white paper ornament and slid in a kraft circle.
  3.  I added a little kraft lip to the top of the white piece.
  4. On the face, I cut two black ornament hangers for Santa’s eyes. I used the inside of the black ornament hangers for Rudolph’s eyes.
  5. I cut circles from dies for Rudolph’s nose and Santa’s pompon.
  6. I took the black circles from the ornament hangers and use as Rudolph’s eyes.
  7. I added clear Nuvo Clear Crystal Drops to both character’s eyes and Rudolph’s nose.

For the background piece, I first watercolored the card and after it dried, I placed the stencil down and used a slightly different watercolor. After that dried, I used Nuvo Aquamarine Mousse (love this stuff!) with the same stencil on top. I had a lot of fun finding new uses for my Ornaments Infinity Dies!

Ink and Emboss with Asian Flower Stencil

Hi, friends, Chark here today to show off my new Ink and Emboss Holly Mini Cubes. I had no idea Hero Arts even did an ink/embossing powder combo. Well, they do and they all match. This set was intended to go with the holiday stamps. I used the red embossing powder with the Asian Flower stencil and Versamark ink instead…and oh my goodness! I love this embossing powder! It melts into shiny bright red goodness, perfect for the holidays and anything you want to glam up. I think it would be perfect for holly berries, candy canes and sleighs!

IMG_5043

It’s a little difficult to see because I stenciled and heat embossed on shiny gold paper, but the red looks just like a candy apple but I resisted the urge to lick it 🙂

I tried it on several papers and it looks just as yummy on white paper, vellum and gold. It dries a little too dark for some papers…the red doesn’t stay as red when there’s green under it, but I did use the clear Versamark ink and not the red ink it came with…it might possible make a difference.

I cut the glossy red embossed paper into ornament shapes and then adhered them to a photo Christmas tree paper. The happy is from a Hero Arts Happy Birthday set. I have the word Christmas stamped inside from another stamp set.

This one was fun to make and I’ll be using this embossing powder for more glossy red fun in the future.

Happy Friday!

Holiday projects with Ornament Infinity Dies

Hi everybody, I must tell you I am very eager to share my holiday projects with you!  I got my new Hero Arts Ornament Infinity Dies last Friday and I am like a child whom just received a new toy!!  Of course I played with it right away!!  LOL

A couple days ago my design team mate Char created some beautiful ornamentd using the same die and washi tapes.  See it here.  I reached for my glitter powders and glitter paper, and experimented.

  1. die cut using glitter paper
  2. adhere fine glitter powder using Stick It
  3. adhere glitter using Stick It
  4. die cut using gold foil card stock and metallic card stock from the Hero Arts December 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit

Each product gave me a different look.    I selected some of the pieces from my experiment to put on my card.

On my white postage stamp shape panel (die cut using Hero Arts Postage Stamp Infinity Dies) I stamp the pine branches from the Hero Arts Vintage Christmas Post set, and add faux snow (mixture of glossy embossing paste and glitter) and gold heat emboss the sentiment from the same set.  I adhere the ornaments (thread with sliver cord) using foam adhesive.  I cut a tiny slit underneath the branch and tug the end of the sliver cord in under the white panel, secure with tape.  Then adhere the white panel onto red card base with foam adhesive.  To make the smaller ornaments, I first peel off the backing of the Stick It and place it on white card stock.  Then I die cut the ornaments.  Next I peeled off the remainding backing and sprinkle the glitter over it.

While I was waiting the faux snow for my card to dry I decide to play some more with the dies and made ornaments.  First a 2D version, then a 3D version, then I got carried away and made another combining the two techniqes!  Hehe!!

If you don’t mind the long post read on!  I think everything is pretty much self explanatory.  I included some snap shots taken while making them.   This first one has an inner piece suspended using fishing wire.

These two are not complicate to make, just cut multiples (same color or multiple colors), score down the middle, fold and glue together.  Just remember to add cord before gluing the last piece.  Right now they could be considered the ‘vanilla’ version, but one could always embellish further using bling, button, and the alike.

The last one is a combination of the first two.  And I needed some help to hold things while I glue, so I used a clip.

Whew!  Finally done (for this post).  But I am not done playing with the dies.  😀  This set of dies has different size and shape ornament, so imagine the combination you could have!  Get yours first, right now.  It’s available at the a2z Etsy store, use my promote code Cindy15 to get a discount, scroll down for more details.  Check it out.

Ornaments Infinity Dies and Washi

I just got the new Hero Arts Ornaments Infinity Dies and had to start experimenting with them. I love the variety of sizes and shapes you get, as well as the bow and the ornament tops in two sizes to fit the dies.

The first thing I did was apply a variety of washi tapes in strips on some cardstock. Then I used the different ornaments to die cut the washi covered paper. After that, all I had to do was attach the tops of the ornaments that I die cut.

I arranged the ornaments on the stenciled background and popped one of the ornaments up. I used Gold Stickles to make little chains for the ornaments. The heart is cut with the Heart Infinity Dies from glittered pink washi.

For the stenciled part, I used some Gansai Tambi Pearlized Watercolor in peach paint to brush onto a card front. After it dried, I added the Asian Flower Stencil to the card and brushed on some of the white pearlized paint. It gave a faint, imperfect impression for the background…with a lot of shine. You can see that here.
