Wonderful Stamp & Cut with Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut

august 15 a2z.jpg

Hi there, it’s Angie here today sharing a some inspiration for our August “Bright and Beautiful” Challenge at a2z scrapbooking blog!

I used some new supplies for this card:  Hero Arts Wonderful Stamp and Cut, and Hero Arts Holiday Ornaments Stamp and Cut.  I love Hero Arts Stamp and Cut sets because they have a good price and are very versatile.  I stamped the ornaments in 3 bright colors of Gina K Designs ink, then added silver glitter pen to the ornament hooks at the top and for the strings, then I added Nuvo glitter drops to each ornament.  I die cut the wonderful word from white card stock (I first put Stick It Adhesive on the back), and then I put it on a black border so it would pop off the white card panel more.  Then, of course, I got a tiny spot of ink where I didn’t want it – so I pulled out my Tombow Mono Sand Eraser to the rescue!  I love that eraser and I use it a LOT!!!   The sentiment is from the “Wonderful” set, the 2 borders were cut with a die from Poppy Stamps and the corners at the top were rounded with a corner rounder.  Card stock used was from Gina K Designs.

Scroll down for links to all the products I used for my card.

Don’t forget to use code Angie15 when ordering these new stamp and cut sets! (spend $25 or more to use code)

Hero Arts Prayers

Hi friends – welcome back to a super simple card – TOTALLY CAS (clean and simple)! I recently received some 4 bar note cards and have LOVED using them for quick cards. And since we are focusing on sentiments this month, I thought this was the perfect size for a card truly focusing on the sentiment! And don’t forget to play for your chance to win; link up your card HERE!

And don’t forget, you can save 15% off your order when shopping the Etsy store, just use code: MicheleG15!

I used the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely stamp set and only embossed the foilage with white embossing powder. I had seen something very similar on Jennifer McGuire’s Instagram account and knew it would be fun to try!

Once embossed, I die cut ‘prayers’ from the center (uh…should have saved those inside pieces, WHOOPS) and sponged on Worn Lipstick oxide ink and Fired Brick distress ink. I embossed the rest of the sentiment on black card stock and mounted with dimensional tape, added more black cardstock behind the sentiment, swiped the top and bottom of the 4 bar card with Worn Lipstick oxide ink and that’s it! Super simple yet very striking.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will join our challenge this month; you can link up YOUR projects HERE!

Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut

I’m so glad that a2z is hosting this month’s “Layer It” Challenge!  Christmas is getting closer and I wanted to start building my stash of holiday cards.  For this card I used both multiple layers of card stock stacked up with the sentiment die to make it pop up more, and used the layering stamps for the bow and the leaves!  Hero Arts layering stamps are so easy to use and make your projects have such great depth!

I used a Hero Arts Mermaid Ombre AF365 Ink Pad and just swiped it down a panel of card stock.  I used Hero Arts DC195 Christmas Trimmings Stamp and Cut set for all the leaves, bow, and sentiment.   In addition I used Hero Arts AF247 Fresh Peach Mid-Tone shadow Ink.   I added dots of silver Nuvo glitter drops to the mistletoe berries die cuts.

I hope you will have time to join us this month for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.  Just remember to use one main Hero Arts product and link up your card HERE.  Good Luck!

Don’t forget, you can use code Angie15 to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (excluding shipping) at the a2zscrapbooking store.  The new release products are in the store now so have fun shopping!

These are the supplies I used from the store:

Ink Daubers for Fast Painting

Hi friends, it’s Chark today with a little idea for gift bags for July 4th. I transformed heart die cuts from the Hero Arts So Sorry Stamp & Cut into flags to decorate bags you could fill with candy, sparklers, bang snaps, glow sticks or noisemakers.

The secret to the quick transformation of the white hearts is to use Ink Daubers (on sale now for just $2!!). Just swipe on stripes and dab on the blue in the corner (or cover the whole mini heart). The ink daubers have a sponge applicator built in, so you just color with the bottle, no brushes needed. I added a little strip of rhinestones and celebrate ribbon I had in my stash.

While the hearts dry, stamp the heart string on the bag with the fabulous Hero Arts Unicorn White ink. Adhere all the bits together and fill with your choice of fun stuff.

These would be easy and fast for a wedding too. Just do a free-hand heart in the center of the die cut with the ink dauber in the wedding colors and add matching ribbon. You could even use white bags instead of the kraft lunch bags and ink the whole heart die cut in the wedding colors.

Hope you have a fab weekend! And that you’ll join in our July Challenge of Anything Goes—use a Hero Arts stamp, stencil, die or digi as your main element and then go crazy with the rest! You could win a $25 gift code to the a2z Scrapbooking store and I know you’d love that!

Embossing with Hero Arts Stencils

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today to show you a Clean And Simple card I made with a dry embossing technique with stencils. It was easy and makes those stencils even more useful. I didn’t get messy with embossing paste or inks but I got to use the design for my background.

I used a technique I learned from Shari Carroll’s video here. You simply use your plastic stencil with your cutting machine plates and thin foam (I used an embossing foam mat, shes uses an old, thin mouse pad). The layers she used were cutting platform, plate, foam, stencil, paper, foam, plate. You can get more details in the video. I only had one piece of foam so I used a squishy piece of cardboard for the other layer. It worked just fine.

Here’s a close-up of the texture and you can also see the shimmer on the heart from the metallic gelatos I used.

The heart die cut is from the So Sorry Stamp and Cut set and it’s one of those versatile sets with a few different-sized heart dies.

For this one, I scribbled green and blue metallic gelatos on an acrylic block and then used a good deal of water to make a painted watercolor heart.

For the little heart inside, I used my silver Stickles and left the heart for the focus. This could be an engagement card, baby card or even a sympathy card.

Hope you’ll join in our monthly challenge by using your Hero Arts products for the main elements and following the CAS (Clean and Simple) theme. You could be the winner of the $25 gift certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking store!

Happy Tuesday!
