Christmas Wrap with Hero Arts

Aloha and happy Saturday friends!  My apologies for the delay.  It’s been busy around here with baking and wrapping gifts.  There’s nothing like a homemade gift and having homemade wrapping paper can be a bonus too!

Hero Arts Christmas Wrap

I took white tissue paper and my Hero Arts Ombre inks and started stamping away using the Hero Arts Christmas Messages (which is on sale).  I made sure the pattern was stamped in a way that I didn’t have to worry about the sentiment being upside down.  When buying wrapping paper I’m always conscious of one way designs…drives me crazy…haha!  Another tip is having another paper to stamp on.  I learned this the hard way realizing my inks bled through the tissue paper on to my desk.

Hero Arts Christmas Wrap

Here’s the gift all wrapped up…see what I mean about having the sentiment stamped in various ways?  I think this would be a cool way to make a card set for friends and family and wrap it up for fun!

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!  Mahalo for all of your comments and visits to the blog this past year.  Sending virtual hugs to you all for a blessed New Year!!

Swallowtail Butterfly with Ombre Spring Brights

I had so much fun making this card using a new Hero Arts Ink Ombre Spring Brights on kraft card stock.   I swiped it down a piece, then die cut the Swallowtail Butterfly and also used it to stamp the flowers and leaves from the Let Love Grow stamp set.   I also used a little white ink for accents, black ink and some circle dies to frame the sentiment which is also from that same step set.  I finished it off with some diamond gems on the butterfly.  Here’s a list of the supplies I used:

Hero Arts Hello in Pink to Red Ombre

Hi friends, welcome back!

I made this uber CAS (clean and simple) card – so quick, so easy and just think of all the color combos you can use! Wouldn’t a set of these cards in a variety of colors be a beautiful gift? Since we are using shades of red this month, I used two ink pads – Hero Arts Intense Black and Hero Arts Pink to Red Ombre. I very lightly sponged on some pink at the bottom and let it fade out towards the top.

I stamped random flowers and leaves from two stamp sets – For You Flower and You’re So Lovely. I used two layers of micropore tape for my baseline of stamping but some of the ink still seeped through; that’s okay, it’s handmade and not every single card can be perfection, RIGHT! I added a few pops of black to compliment the sentiment and finished it off with 3 enamel accents. So easy peasy!

New Orleans Mardi Gras Cards

Hi, friends, it’s Chark today with a couple of cards using the New Orleans wooden stamp from Hero Arts. I had to have this stamp because New Orleans is one of my favorite cities in the U.S. (Never been out of the country, so I can’t say the world, but I imagine it’d still be at the top of the list.)

I first visited in high school when I unexpectedly got to take the French class trip to New Orleans…it’s where a friend of mine actually became my boyfriend, so you can see why the city is a favorite of mine, not to mention the food, the music, the feel of the French Quarter, the shops, the architecture, the very essence of just being on Bourbon Street. I’ve been back twice and never at Mardi Gras, but I always think of New Orleans at this time of year.

Both cards here use the Mermaid Ombre ink, which is gorgeous, for the backgrounds. The first card I wiped the pad onto vellum and then rubbed off some extra and let it dry. Be aware it takes awhile (read hours) to air dry on vellum. I used the ink to stamp the city skyline as well. I thought it looked like Mardi Gras colors (though the green is more teal), so I added some gold glitter washi and sequins.

This next card is a bit different and I used a white card for the background panel. I simply laid the ink pad onto the paper several times and then turned the pad sideways and patted the ink pad onto the previous inking, to make a plaid pattern. I added a white strip of paper with heart die cuts and added sequins and a digital sentiment (birthday is inside).

Please join us in our February Any Shade of Red With Hero Arts Challenge to try to win the $25 gift code to the store. Go here for the details.

Hope you have a great day and Mardi Gras (February 28 this year)! Oh, and that boyfriend I dated in New Orleans? I married him and took him to New Orleans for our honeymoon 🙂

Hero Arts Thank You Die & More

We are coming to the end of December and that means you still have time to enter our “Anything but a Card” Challenge!  I hope you will join us for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.

Today I have a few gift card holders I made for my stash.  These are easy to make and they make the gift of a giftcard a little more special!  The red and green ones were made with big Hero Arts background stamp, one was stamped and the other heat embossed in clear to give a tone on tone look.  The third background was made by swiping a Hero Art’s ombre ink pad straight down the card stock!  I had a lot of fun decorating these with Hero Arts flowers, and stamps and die cuts.

These are the supplies I used from the store:

Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut

I’m so glad that a2z is hosting this month’s “Layer It” Challenge!  Christmas is getting closer and I wanted to start building my stash of holiday cards.  For this card I used both multiple layers of card stock stacked up with the sentiment die to make it pop up more, and used the layering stamps for the bow and the leaves!  Hero Arts layering stamps are so easy to use and make your projects have such great depth!

I used a Hero Arts Mermaid Ombre AF365 Ink Pad and just swiped it down a panel of card stock.  I used Hero Arts DC195 Christmas Trimmings Stamp and Cut set for all the leaves, bow, and sentiment.   In addition I used Hero Arts AF247 Fresh Peach Mid-Tone shadow Ink.   I added dots of silver Nuvo glitter drops to the mistletoe berries die cuts.

I hope you will have time to join us this month for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.  Just remember to use one main Hero Arts product and link up your card HERE.  Good Luck!

Don’t forget, you can use code Angie15 to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (excluding shipping) at the a2zscrapbooking store.  The new release products are in the store now so have fun shopping!

Hero Arts Paper Layering Heart Lavender

Hello there,

Cindy here to share a card with a fun card front.  Whew!  Almost a tongue twister!  🙂

Let’s get right to it:

Not your usual half fold card front?

Here’s my process:

  • Fold a Hero Arts Floral Mixed Folder card inside out, so the white side is the outside.
  • Trim off 1 3/4 inch off from the right side of the card front.
  • Use pencil to lightly mark where the stamping of the floral heart (from the Love By Lia set) on the card front and inside of the card.
  • Stamp floral heart with Hero Arts Ombre Ink Light to Dark Purple on card front and left side of the inside.  Let ink dried, erase pencil mark.
  • Place Hero Arts Paper Layering Heart die cut side down on card front and secure with Washi tape.  Unfold card so it’s flat.  Sandwich it with the proper plates and pass it thru the die cut machine.  Remove die.
  • Make a score line for easy folding and fold back every other part of layering pieces towards the right hand side.  Glue down to the edge of card.
  • Stamp and heat emboss with gold embossing powder sentiment and three Nested Heart from the So Sorry Stamp & Cut set.

I hope I’ve inspired you to play along this month’s challenge – To Die For, use a Hero Arts die cut.   Check out the details and challenge rules (click the corresponding tab on top of page).

LOL! Shaker Card

NOTICE: It looks like we’re having a bit of trouble with our InLinkz Link-up on our blog. It seems to have a mind of its own and disappeared from the side-bar. However, it found a home on the first day of March here. The DT are trying to put it back where it came from, but until you see it in the usual place on the top right side, you’ll be able to enter here.

Good morning crafty Friends!

I’m here to share a lil’ shaker card using Hero Arts CL737 “LOL” Stamp set.  Just love this set! Seems everyone has a cell phone these days…even taught my mom to text last year…fun experience! LOL! Got easier once she learned to use the space button. hehehe. Now I just get a bunch of emoji’s. LOL!

March 10 Cell phone card

I started by embossing the cell phone with black embossing powder and Versamark and heat setting. I then cut it out and cut out the window inside…as this will be for my  shaker portion. Then using Hero Arts Ombre Inks I stamped sentiments and emoji’s from the set.

Then I assembled my base card with DP as I wanted it then got to assembling the Shaker portion. I used foam tape to give it the dimension and keep the sequins inside.

Happy Craftin’!

I have a cheery Sunflower Hello Beautiful card for you!  It’s also my first post as a Design Team member here at A2ZScrapbooking. I’m so excited to be here!

I did a little masking in honor of our A2ZScrapbooking February Challenge.  Hope you can play along with us this month – winner of the challenge gets a $25 gift certificate to the A2ZScrapbooking Etsy Store .

Just be sure your project contains one main HERO ARTS product!

Hello Sunflower 1

I used the sunflower from the Hero Arts Digital set Poetic Petals DT004 printed it out twice, once for the card-one for a mask.

I sponged Hero Arts Ombre Inks on the stamp.   ( Mint to Green and Butter to Orange).  I fussy cut the 2nd flower, used as a mask and stamped the “Hello” stamp from Hero Arts Hello Stamp and Die set, to peek out from behind the flower.

Hello Sunflower 3

I made matching paper by dragging the ink pads on cardstock.   I cut 3 “Hello’s” with “Stick It” paper on the back, making it quick to  stack them.  I stacked fun foam, green, and black for dimension.

Hello Sunflower 2

I stamped “beautiful” on the banner, added a mini black brad on one end and popped it up.   I used some stiched rectangle dies from my stash to make the different layers.

Lastly I put Wink of Stella on the flower for extra shimmer.

Hello Sunflower 4

Maybe someone you know needs a “pick-me-up” card – the Hello Stamp and Die set has many different sentiments to chose from and make the perfect card to lift their spirits!
