Hello, Buddy

Love this little stamp set that features pairs of animals that look like buddies. They could be Mom or Dad with their kid, aunts with their nephews or nieces or just big brother and little brother or two sisters. And right now, this full set is just $8 in the store.

For this card, I used silver embossing paste and my favorite Star stencil. I stenciled it on patterned paper to add a little interest. Then I used the Hello die cut and since I didn’t have silver paper that matched, I used silver ink to color the die cut. The elephants are colored in aqua and pink Prismacolor pencils and I trimmed them out. You can also buy the die set for the animals.

Encouraging Tags

Hello crafters!

It has been such a busy week here on the blog! Inspiration every where!

Our current challenge is Encouragement and I decided nothing could be more encouraging than the sweet characters in the Lil Hoot set from Hero Arts and Operation Write Home. I also really wanted to play around with some backgrounds so I decided to create some tags. Often times I feel a little overwhelmed when trying to use large backgrounds on a card. A tag is a perfect way to use a little bit of a busy background!

I should note that these tags were created by me. I know I should get a die but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I cut my paper and then traced the edge of a large circle die. Trimmed off the top and punched a whole it in. BOOM! Tag 🙂

For my first tag I smooshed distress inks onto my craft mat and sprayed it with water. I kept dipping my tag in until I like the background. after it was dry I laid down the arrow stencil and put even more distress ink on. Finally I shifted the die over to the right and used my white embossing paste. I like how just bits of the darker color are peaking out. I added a bit of stickles to the tips of the arrows. The elephant was colored with copics, fussy cut, and added with dimensional adhesive.

For this background I used the Tweed stencil and more distress ink. I just kept shifting the stencil up to get the ombre chevrons. I love the blended look it gives. I flipped the stencil horizontal and added embossing paste creating a subtle cross hatch. I outlined one side of the embossing paste with stardust stickles. Again I colored the bears with copics, fussy cut, and added dimensional adhesive.

This last one was the most fun to create! I love how the starry sky turned out! I added several colors of distress ink keeping it lighter where I knew my moon would be. I flicked on some water and let it dry. I added the stars using the Starry Night stencil then used a silver pen and stardust stickles to add some dots. Copics, Fussy, Dimension. All done!

These guys couldn’t be any cuter! I just love this set 🙂

You’re a HOOT

Hello Friends!! Welcome to the blog, It’s Chitra (from My Craft Corner) here with a new post for you all. So excited to write my very first post for the blog. The current challenge theme for this month is “Encouragement”, so I made a card which goes with the theme..

Hoot

For my card background I first masked the circle where I wanted my image to be and then placed my HA’s “Tweed” stencil and added the colors with distress inks and sponge daubers. When I was happy with the colors I then stamped the dots on top of the stencil to give some interest. Then I removed the stencil to reveal the magic (you know how it feels 😉 ). The image is from HA’s “Lil Hoot” which is stamped inside the circle with Memento Tuxedo Ink and I colored with copics.

I have used two different (parts of) sentiment to make my own sentiment, that’s the joy of clear stamps…. right.? Also I have scored the outline of my circle just to define it.

Hope you enjoyed todays card. If you are interested in any of the products I used on my card or any other amazing products from the store, please feel free to use my DT Promo Code: CHITRA15 and you will receive a 15% OFF(Excluding Shipping).

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to play with our current challenge!! Have a happy weekend!!
