love you more wm main

Hello, it’s Angie here today with a curve shaped card using some fun Hero Arts products! Shaped cards can be intimidating if you don’t make them a lot but if you want to join in the challenge this month, you can easily do that by making a regular shape card, then die cutting one or both sides of it with a scissors or use a border/edge die.  Just make sure you use one main Hero Arts product too!

For this card I stamped the Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia on Gina K Designs Premium card stock, then stamped a 2nd one for a mask.  (If you haven’t had a chance to try this Gina K Designs Premium card stock – it’s amazing!  So thick and smooth – it’s perfect for stamped images, and so nice to color on – nothing bleeds through.  It’s such high quality that it give your cards a very professional look and feel!  A2Z scrapbooking now carries this in the store!)  Sorry about the detour – now back to the card…..

I covered the flower, then added the Hero Arts Deco Pattern Stencil over the flower and used some really light inks with a sponge dauber.  I started on the mask and made that the darkest and faded out as I left the flower.  Then I colored the flowers with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  After that I cut the “Love” from Hero Arts Love Stamp and Cut set from the front of the card and from black fun foam.  I mounted a piece of black card stock behind the card front, then adhered the foam “love”, followed by the colored “love”, offsetting it just a little to the right so the black foam would peek through.  I stamped “You More” from the same stamp set on black and heat embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder, then cut it into a little banner and popped it up on foam dots.

Now here’s where the fun shaping happened!  All I did was take a couple of edge dies and used a curve one on the right side and a straight one on the left side and ran them through my Big Shot.  Lastly, I added Nuvo Jewel Drops for added interest.  Ta-da, you have a shaped card!  I hope you will find the time to enter our June “Take Shape” Challenge!  See details below!  My supplies list is also below.

Here are a few more pictures of my card:
