Hi! It’s Sue. It’s sunny here in Vancouver and it’s getting more difficult to stay inside to craft. I guess I need to find things that I could do outside. I love cats. So when, Hero Arts came out with some cat stamps, I knew that I just had to have them. Today’s card, uses a Hero Arts wood stamp, E6217, Purring Kitty.
Here’s my card
Isn’t the kitty the cutest? I stamped the kitty and coloured it with Copics. I was a bit stuck with what to do next. I created the background adding distress inks with ink blending tools, incorporating pale blues, grey and purple. It created the added interest I was looking for (so much better, in my opinion) than a plain white background. I found a complementary scrap piece of cardstock for the horizontal piece. I decided to add a die cut label to mat the kitty panel and popped it up with dimensionals. I decided to leave the card without a sentiment, so that I could use it for one of my cat friends – maybe as a hello, or get well or happy birthday.
My card is pretty much the opposite of the current challenge here at a2z Scrapbooking where the challenge is
We’d love for you to join us at our challenge. There are a few days left. Please remember that you need to use a Hero Arts product as your focus. Love this, Sue! Really cute kitty, and great job on the coloring. Nice CAS design, too. I also have a hard time with leaving white space white. So, great idea to ink the background. Tfs! 🙂 ~ Andrea
