Fireflies – Hero Arts Mason Jar Bugs

Hi everyone!  Hope you will enter the challenge over at a2zscrapbooking blog this month.  You could be the lucky winner of a $25 gift certificate to the store – just remember to use one main Hero Arts product!

July Challenge Theme:  Anything Goes!

I just love the stamp set I used to make this card because it is so versatile.  It doesn’t just have bugs, it has flowers and a mason jar, beautiful butterflies, leaves and branch/stems, a net, sweet sentiments and some very useful tiny stamps that could be used for many things.  The frame cuts are the perfect match and cut so easily!  With this combination you can make cards for just about anyone, kids, adults….

I inked the background with distress ink, then cut the jar from speckled vellum.  For the bugs,  I stamped, colored and added Wink of Stella then used the matching frame cuts. I flicked  some white paint and shimmer spray with a paint brush to make stars in the sky.  Then I added a few fireflies under and over the vellum  jar and added Wink of Stella to it to give it some sparkle.  Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment and added a little twine on it.

I hope you can join the July Anything Goes Challenge at a2z!

We’d love to see your creations!

  3. I never would have thought lightening bugs in a jar would be so cute, but you’ve done it and it’s so easy. WOW, so creative.
